Why Choose This Activity
Odd One Out works well when someone enjoys spotting what does not belong in a small group. Four pictures per round keep the choice manageable on Memory Care and Sharp Mind paths. There is no timer - name what you see, then look for the shared theme.
Clear four-picture rounds with gentle correction feedback make category reasoning approachable without time pressure.
How It Plays
Each round shows four pictures. Three share a category; one does not. Tap the odd one out. A correct tap turns green; a miss reveals the intended answer and which category the other three shared.
Settings & Difficulty
Levels: No difficulty settings
- Four pictures per round; rounds: 3, 5, 8, or 10
- Miss feedback shows the correct odd item and the shared category
- No sound or music; no time limit per round
Facilitator Tips
- Start by naming each picture aloud, then ask what most have in common.
- If a sensible answer is marked wrong, read the feedback - the game picks one category per round.
- Talking about other possible groupings is still valuable (for example fruit as food vs plant).
- Start with 3 or 5 rounds before trying 10.
- Changing round count after Start restarts the game.
